After getting bothered with self acclaimed men of God for their controversial prophecies of desolation rather than of hope and salvation, Malawi dancehall group outfits have come out to defend President Peter Mutharika for his recent rant against these prophets.
While likening these controversial prophets to magicians and soothsayers, Blackface Family in the song Mwandikumbira Dzenje sample the Malawi leader’s audio bite in which dresses down Nigerian Prophet T.B Joshua whose prophecy about a Southern Africa President dying by April.

The song grabs you tip by tip thinking it is just that audio of Mutharika’s anger over the prophets, but no. It is the artistic prowess in the song that slowly drives a listener into the issue the reggae have placed grounds on.
Blackface family also wonder why prophets are not busy driving more people to the gospel of God but prefer to preach doom.
By the blend of Tumbuka, Chichewa and English the track points Malawi’s South African based Prophet Shepherd Bushiri, trashing his wooing of musicians lately to join his church let alone join the bandwagon of others who keep singing praises for him rather than Jesus the Savior.
Kulira Africa, the Warm heart of Africa, Malawi vyatitonda vyamuchalu ivi ise, Mwandikumbila dzenje…mpakana kufika pondipangira ma demo// goes the chorus in wondering why people are eager to see others fail.
The song also does not spare politicians, branding them as greedy and only using the electorate whom they kneel down to during campaign period but later take as mere trash when in power.
In the third verse, the song switches to the whirlwind of Miracle money- a novelty of Bushiri, which dramatically infers to people getting rich in just a blink of an eye, but that’s a miracle anyway.

Bushiri na Gwamba wakuti zizamukhala better, kweni malembo ya Dada kuchanya yakuti vilimakola better….’’ The track pinches on the recent relationship between artist Gwamba, who critics say was wooed by money to join the praise team for Bushiri who, ironically is his brother-in-law questioning the credibility of his switch. It may perhaps be in the spirit of the reports making rounds that other musicians are also heading the same way having been enticed by bounty packages and poshy cars by Bushiri.
In the track, Blackface features another Mzuzu based artist, Yuppie. The group’s earlier track, Msika Wapsyanso, which talked of the ills of markets fire in Malawi went to the extent of being banned on the state broadcaster during the Joyce Banda regime something which has made the Mzuzu boys wear the cassock of advisory crew lately.
The group which consists of three young brothers, namely Limbani, Joel and William Phiri and Nick Gondwe, a childhood friend who is currently based in South Africa also digs on Joyce Banda for her role in the cashagte scandal that saw over K553 billion being uncounted for and K24 billion looted by PP and government officials reportedly with her blessings.
