Blantyre based iconic gospel artist, Faith Che Muphuwa Mussa is set to hit the music industry with his second album in five years titled Mdidi.
Mussa in an interview with the Malawi News Agency (MANA) on Thursday said the launch of the album will take place on August 4, 2018 at Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe.
“I have decided to launch Mdidi at BICC because I wanted “a bigger space” that could allow my fans to comfortably enjoy the show. I will have Lusubilo and Chigo Grace as supporting artists apart from my family, Mussa family from the old days.
“The album contains 10 tracks plus a bonus track and has been produced by both Malawian and international producers,” he said.
He cited Foxxy and Sam Mjura Mkandawire as locally based producers while Nico as his producer from the United Kingdom.
He therefore said the album on its own has been patiently crafted and has a worldwide touch and influence.
“I have taken a long time to put it together. I have written this album while traveling all over the world. The influence, the features, the instruments and the inspiration is from all over the world but with a Malawian skeleton to it,” he said.
“I have featured artists’ expertise from Nigeria, USA, UK, Norway, and most of all Malawian cream of artists,” he said, adding that it is something that he has ever wanted.
Tickets of the show will be going at k10, 000 for standard tickets and K15, 000 on the day of launch.
However, the admission fee will be reduced if fans buy tickets using the newly launched entertainment application known as Phwando App available at Google play store
“The app has been developed by LomakuTechnologies and People will be able to buy the tickets at a lower price if they download the app whose size is 4Mb. They will save K2300 on standard tickets and K1,000 on VIP tickets,” he said.
Among notable songs in the album are Selofoni, He fights for me, Desperate reggae remix, Mdidi and a worship song, Moyo Wanga.
