Christie Vitu Banda of Nakisai fashion brand is participating at the Tshwane fashion festival in South Africa.
The Tshwane fashion festival, whch is held twice a year, is organised by Retro Vintage Kkolektion(Rvk) to enable fashion designers from around Africa to showcase their collections to buyers and seek new business opportunities.
She said Nakisai brand is inspired by the modern African family.
“So its mature, exciting and a cocktail of traditional wear,”
She further explained that, at the gala, she will be showcasing a mixture of traditional and western wears but said all her materials were bought here in Malawi.
“Some are Chitenje tailored designs which I created with my fellow designer Bless Maere,” she said.
The festival is taking place tonight April 15 and tomorrow at Jahdown in Tshwane city in Pretoria.
Participating countries include RSA, Tanzania, Malawi, Swaziland, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Ghana and Botswana.
